I have been making these letter openers/knives since 1986. To the best of my knowledge, this technique is completely unique to my work. I make a slot in the end of a hard stone handle and then grind the blade to fit. I have made around 90 of these since 1986. Of course, they have changed over time but the idea of displaying the maximum surface of jade is what I have strived for.
